We are proud to present the Frank Geiger Philatelists - www.WorldStamps.com family. Our office is only a few yards from our home and views one of Pinehurst's finest golf courses. We enjoy both our work and the beautiful area in which to do it!
IN MEMORIUM: LADY was our 14 year-old Shetland Sheep Dog. Fiercely loyal and a joy to all of us. She guarded our property tenaciously and eagerly notified us when the Mail, UPS or FedEx arrived. Not a day goes by that we don't smile when we remember her affectionate behavior!
MUFFIN is our second dog. She is now a 11-year old Collie - Shepard mix. Harriet helped rescue her from deplorable conditions at a kill shelter in the South. She is playful, affectionate and as sweet as they come.
ZIPPY is our only male dog. He is now a 8-year old Shih Tzu. Harriet rescued him from an abusive home and, I'm happy to report, he has fluorished tremendously. He is cute, wildly enegetic and gives everyone his love and devotion. Give him a tennis ball and a plate of food and he asks no more from life.
TWINKIE is our latest dog. She is now a 3-year old Shih Tzu. Harriet rescued her from abandonment and she is like a torpedo in any the room she flies through. She is triple-cute, ridiculously enegetic and never chews a wisp of food. She inhales everything!
The FOUR CATS: Sadly, our four cats (the greatest group of purrers ever!) is now down to one here. They kept our chairs warm and loved to nap in the Penny Box. Harriet volunteers at the nearby animal shelter and keeps her eye out for cats in need of a good home. Right now, only Creamsicle ("Creamie") remains from the original furry foursome (Tigey, Creamie, Taffy and Stormy). Tigey has moved West to be with daughter Tracy in AZ. Unfortunately, she recently died at age 20! If you are a feline fancier, mention it in your next letter. (Sales pitch: we have a great array of Cats on Stamps to grace your albums!).
LISA, who started working here in 2003, creates our New Issue Year Sets daily. When taking a break from that task, she been painstakingly inputting more stock into the website database. She has eased our workload noticeably.
COLLEEN is another member of our staff. As a dog lover, she is fitting in very well and learning about the world of philately. She, too, creates Year Sets as well as sorts our recent large purchases.
ELLEN processes many of the New Issues which arrive daily and helps create our famous Year Sets. She is new to Philately and already tempted to start collections of South Africa and Jersey!
JULIE is now in her last year of college and was our office "runner" and chief organizer. She ran stockbooks to our order desks and kept stock organized and findable. She was responsible for inputting many of the new issues we handle. We miss her greatly in the office, and she is now nearing graduation and attainment of her degree in Engineering.
ALEX is our South and Central American input specialist. When not working for us, she is pursuing her Masters in Public Health at Arizona State University with plans to continue on to medical school after graduation. She currently teaches biology laboratory courses at ASU. We are proud to say that Alex recently proposed to our daughter, Tracy. Alex enjoys reading, golf, cycling, walking, and spending time with animals in her free time.
FRANKIE, our son, now age 22, is a senior at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He serves as our non-resident computer guru. He has widely ranging duties in the office from keeping our multi-station network humming to preparing our daily outgoing mail for delivery to the post office. He assisted in development of the logic behind our unique WorldStamps.com website 11 years ago, created WorldStamps scans which allowed efficient input of many images at once and, mostly recently, created a complicated multi-variate algorithm to prioritize our incoming orders. He has been making websites since he was 8! His Pokemon Card site had over 20,000 hits. He enjoys politics, world events, music and cooking.
He has been on the Dean's List continuously since his freshman year in Boston College's Honors Program and during his recent years at Cornell University. As parents, we're proud to say he is maintaining a 3.997 GPA!
TRACY, our 26 year-old daughter is the "sports nut" of the house and probably knows more about pro-football, college football, hockey and basketball than any two of us put together! She also enjoys reading, golf, documentaries, crime shows on TV, UConn sports and more! She received her M.Ed. in Higher and Postsecondary Education and currently holds a position at Arizona State University in the Office of Transfer Partnerships with the Academic Articulation Team. When not working or studying, she enjoys spending time with her fiance, Alex, and their four cats.
HARRIET keeps things humming smoothly around the office. She is in charge of maintaining client records and oversees the shipping department. She fills orders and does a lot of the computer input so you can see she has a very busy day. Add to that her pets, painting, reading and volunteer work, and you can see it is a wonder that she sleeps at all!
FRANK has been a Professional Philatelist since graduating from M.I.T. with two degrees in 1969. He started dealing in stamps at age 7 in the second grade! Over the past 60 years (!), he has built a tremendous stock of stamps ranging from classics to rarities to FDC's to Year Sets. His non-philatelic interests are golf, sports, coaching basketball, coaching baseball, traveling and reading.
